PERPLEXITY + OPTIMLISTER

Make product videos by asking Perplexity.

Connect once and Perplexity directs the shoot: a Standard 8-second spot is 17 credits, a 16-second two-shot film with one continuous voiceover is 34. Everything is made to look genuinely filmed - creator-UGC quality, never the plastic AI-render look.

CONNECT IN THREE STEPS

Get your key. Every Optimlister plan has an API key, Free included - it lives in your account.
Add the connector. Custom connectors are a Perplexity Pro, Max or Enterprise feature - not available on the Free plan. If you are on one: Account settings, then Connectors, then + Custom connector, then Remote. Use the URL https://optimlister.ai/api/mcp with your key as an API Key (Bearer token).
Ask. That is the whole setup. Your first successful connect adds 10 credits to your balance.

WHY CONNECT IT

UGC quality, enforced

Every video prompt carries a realism law: natural handheld movement, true shadows, believable textures - footage that looks filmed, not rendered.

Voiceover that fills the runtime

Films come with one continuous script scaled to the length, spoken over both shots - not two disjointed clips.

Priced to what it costs

17 credits for a Standard 8-second spot, 34 for a Standard 16-second film - founding rates, auto-refunded in full if a generation fails.

PASTE THIS TO START

Make an 8-second product video for this product: <describe it>. Show me the plan and the exact credit cost first, then generate it and poll until the video is ready.

Questions

How long does a video take?

An 8-second spot typically lands in 1 to 6 minutes; a 16-second film runs two shots back to back, so allow up to 10. Your assistant can long-poll the status tool and hand you the finished URL.

Does this cost extra on top of Perplexity?

The MCP server and API key come with every Optimlister plan, including Free. Tool calls price exactly like the site: listings use your monthly listings, photos and video use credits at the same rates, and free tools stay free.

Is this official MCP?

Yes - Optimlister runs a standard MCP (Model Context Protocol) server over HTTP, the same open standard Perplexity uses for all its connectors. One URL, one key, no extension to install.

Can it match a style I saw somewhere?

Paste a reference photo or clip URL and ask Perplexity to extract its style first - you get an editable style brief, and the video is directed in that look with your product as the hero. Aesthetics only: brands and people are never copied.

Three steps, and what each one actually produces - words, pictures and video.

Give it what you have

A listing, a link, a photo, a product name, or the email a marketplace just sent you.

It writes, draws and checks, per marketplace

Six different listings and the images to go with them, each to that marketplace's limits and rules, with measured keywords behind the words.

You publish; it keeps watching

Files, exact fields or one-click fill; then daily rank, price and listing-health watch.

Why each version differs: every card is written fresh to the rule printed on it - Amazon now uses a 75-character Item name plus 125-character Item Highlights and benefit bullets, Etsy uses buyer-friendly titles and up to 13 tags, eBay uses item specifics, and Walmart uses structured attributes. The meter under each title shows how much of that marketplace's title limit the example uses. Every asset here is a real generator output with its exact cost - see the receipts.
